SISE Conference Reflection

My supervisor is a Deputy Superintendent within a relatively large district.  I took great pride in her interest in my progress toward achieving my stated goals, despite her busy schedule.  At our SISE conference, she commented positively on my progress and we reflected on areas in which more improvement is needed.  We did agree that, regardless of education, until you accept a role as an Asst. Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, or Superintendent, you really do not know where deficiencies will show.
I will continue to focus my growth in the areas of budgeting and finance, bond planning, and facilities planning / management.

She commented on my strength as an Instructional Leader.  she felt that with Instructional Leadership as my strength, the rest "will come".

Overall, she plans to utilize me in the near future to assist with special projects and committees.  She has agreed to work with me and mentor me throughout my career at my desire.

I thanked her for her leadership, guidance, and patience.  I look forward to a very long, rewarding mentorship.

  1. I can see where many of yur deficiencies would come to the surface only after you take a job, but I still believe that through self reflection and assessment we can improve ourselves to limit those deficiencies.
